9-11 Remembrance Feature

This is the story of the Born family and their experience on 9-11. Brigadier General RET Dana Born (Air Force Academy ’83) and her husband Tim (Naval Academy ’75) and their daughters Hanna (Air Force Academy ’20) and Heather (Naval Academy ’23) are all military academy graduates. Dana was serving as a squadron commander at Bolling Air Force Base in Washington, D.C. on the morning of 9-11 while her daughters Hanna and Heather were in the Pentagon day care center while the attacks occurred. This is a 20th anniversary remembrance feature that aired on CBS Sports on September 11, 2021.
